TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is looking for agents or associations in Thailand that offer courses to sponsor a DTV visa application. The discussion highlights the difficulties in finding good agents, the preference for course sponsorships, and mentions that the DTV visa must be applied for outside of Thailand. There are suggestions to consider various courses such as Muay Thai or cooking classes for the application.

I dont understand. It's so easy, why are people asking about agents. How does it help anyone? Just get a Muay Thai course or cooking course..or even a dentist appointment?

if Malaysia is suitable for you I suggest looking at their digital nomad visa as well, very easy to obtain. TW Gold Card is great and as you said offers nuch more benefits especially on the legal side. The DTV gives you zero legal rights in Thailand and not only that, it also prohibits you to work locally.

Also, this page is the living proof that Thailand isn’t anywhere strict enough with the visa process. It’s unbelievable how many people who are obviously too dumb to tie their own shoelaces are seeking a DTV. Those with a bit of brains manage on their own. Others now seek out “agents” that can supply fake documents or find suitable embassy/consulate locations with less scrutinizing staff.

I’m going to check out Indonesia next, then Japan. Eventually maybe Kenya and Morocco. We found some good visas in Kenya and Japan has essentially free housing in the country side, I want to check it out.

Thailand is great temporarily. But the longer you stay the more you realise how fake everything is. The women are totally unmarriageable and have absolutely no respect for men. Good for a good time, not for a long time.

and the only business opportunities I see here is like only fans management. It can’t be local. The girls must be in charge and can’t require set times or hard work load. And anything remote, mjght as well hire in Philippines, Nigeria or bangladesh. So onlyfans.

And as onlyfans is illegal, I see only sales opportunities, not business. So ‘sell’ here, not setup shop. That should be in Dubai or Hong Kong.

But to escape the west? With a 5 year visa this is absolutely the best stepping stone there is. But it is that. A stepping stone:

they have both MM2H and the digital nomad visa. I think I could live in KL Mt Kiara, nearby KLCC or Penang. Unfortunately it’s run with too much religious interference so no my favorite either, can’t stand it.

BTW as far as the “5 year visa” notion is concerned we might find out soon enough that that’s not really true or there will be strings attached. Immigration can impose condition anytime. Either way it was just $400 so worst case one can just f’off after 1-2 years and it’s still a decent deal.

you’re totally off base with the ‘notion’ though. Once you have it, you have it. They might just raise the price or cancel it though. Which I am confident they will. So get it soon if you can.

Penang felt like cebu to me. like all the beach was totally sold off. So you can’t actually go there. I actually really liked da nang, minus the girls attitudes. it it was a really similar setup/beach to where I am. I rated it.

As far as I can see in Malaysia there’s no actual residency option. Plus I just didn’t like the place. The indian and chinese population were so overtly rude to the malay’s I just couldn’t stand it. I saw cambodia moving in the same direction.

99% of people aren’t really remote workers or business owners man. Has nothing to do with being smart or not. They have no other choice.

I don’t understand the relevance to the post. Oh, why hire an agent? Because:

1. It reduces the risk of being rejected - lots ‘seem’ like they are being accepted but if they’re not receiving tens of thousands now, they will be soon. And lots are also being rejected.

2. This is something you want to do as fast as possible as they will recind this visa for sure.

3. You save money by having someone make sure you can get it: Some people are going to make the mistake of going to the wrong embassy, some are going to apply online thinking they can then go to an embassy overseas when they. Some are just going to submit the wrong details. There is tonnes of mistakes people can make.

4. Some people have more money then time, to fly overseas, multiple times with the chance of failing, to some will not be worth it.

On top of that. This is not a residency visa. It doesn’t lead to residency and never will. So I am looking for visas + countries which offer long term visas, this being probably second best to Taiwan’s gold card right now. And also actual residencies + agents who can help with both

This really disrupts their business model of selling over priced elite visas + other antiquated over-priced visas, so am thinking it will need to be people who have already gone through the process who then want to help others will be the new norm.

I’m assuming you got the same Dm’s as me. If not there is two agents so far, one for 78,000 who will do the entire thing for you including flights. The other for 65,000 including 6 months Muay Thai classes in Patong. Both not bad if you can’f quite meet the requirements…

My immediately feedback is the school or agent will need to have a relationship with immigration. So you need to start looking for schools who are offering it, which I think we will start looking for now actually so thanks. Have seen a few agents jump on it, but seems more of a marketing ploy. The ones I have contacted haven’t even responded or just seem dodgy so I don’t have one I trust enough to refer to yet sorry.

I haven’t even looked into that aspect of it yet. I have a VA scouring the globe for visa agents + visa options for me. Will ask her tomorrow to look into it.
