Hello all. Currently in Thailand on vacation and would like to extend my stay. Iโve been advised to travel to Cambodia and apply for a 60 day TR. Iโm Canadian.
My querying ares these:
1. How many days does it generally take to process this type of visa?
2. Can I get ahead of this by applying online? Or would that mean I could only pick uo the visa in person in Canada?
3. What is accepted as proof of money in the bank account?
4. Will this automatically be rejected by the Thai Embassy in Phnom Phen if I am coming from Thailand to Cambodia and then back to Thailand?
5. Am I better off using a visa agent? Or doing this in Laos instead of Cambodia?
The photo attached shows the Thai Embassy requirements. Thanks!
TLDR : Answer Summary
A Canadian traveler in Thailand seeks to extend their stay by applying for a 60-day tourist visa (TR) in Cambodia. They ask about processing times, online application possibilities, required proof of financial means, potential rejection due to current stay, and the option of using a visa agent. Responses indicate that visa processing typically takes 3 working days in-person at the Cambodian embassy. Online applications are unavailable; applicants must be in their home country for eVisa processing. For financial proof, a recent bank statement showing at least 20,000 baht is sufficient. Applying in Laos is deemed easier and quicker, though returning from Thailand to Cambodia won't result in automatic rejection. Comments advise against using agents and emphasize the feasibility of handling the process independently.
