Iโ€™m an American on a tourist visa. Currently staying in an apartment in Nonthaburi. Iโ€™m approaching the time when I have to apply for an extension. I plan on going to IT square in Lak Si. Iโ€™m hearing some conflicting info on the need for a TM-30 for an extension like this. Any insight would be appreciated.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the necessity of having a TM-30 form filed for extending a tourist visa in Thailand, specifically for an American expat staying in Nonthaburi. Contributors advise to ensure a TM-30 is on file, as it is required when applying for a 30-day extension at the Thai Immigration office, along with clarifying the correct office to visit.

Right NOW we are advising everyone to have a TM30 on file with the Thai Immigration office for your extension of stay.

It's required that your property owner file a TM30 within 24 hours of your arrival into your residence.
