I saw some people on here already cancelled their DTV to switch to Non-B/Work Permit
Question: Did you need to leave the country to do it? If you did not, how much did it cost to get the Non - B/ Work Permit......(This question is aimed at teachers mainly)

TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation revolves around the process of converting a DTV (Digital Nomad Visa) to a Non-B (business) visa and work permit in Thailand, particularly for teachers. It discusses whether it's necessary to leave the country for this process, the typical costs associated with the Non-B visa, and the challenges of conversion without a job offer. Participants highlight that the costs for the Non-B visa are often covered by employers and clarify that a DTV cannot be cancelled but may be converted at a local immigration office.
Some have posted asking but I have not seen a post stating they have done it and how.

I don't believe a DTV can be cancelled but it can be converted to another visa type at your local immigration office. Whether or not your school will provide the paperwork for that is between you and the school. I don't believe you can get the Non-B at a consulate outside of Thailand as you can't have 2 current visas

The Non-B costs are usually covered by your employer. That's normally not a visa you can obtain without having received a job offer in an authorized field. Yearly fees are THB5000 for Non-B multi-entry, work permit THB3000. The costs of an "agent" non-B is pretty high (I've heard between 40-120k yearly) and can't be compared with the very low cost of a DTV.

Anonymous participant 828 Sorry for being pedantic but is the B 1900 and multi entry permit 3800?

I forgive you 😆. That's the price when applying abroad but you're also right, 1900 and 3800 are for when you renew here in Thailand.
