How can I complete the TM30 registration online or via app for the first time?

Responding to the earlier posting by Peter Witton & Robert Lagas’ response (& not wanting to hijack it), I face a similar TM30 situation later this week. I will be staying with my Thai wife’s family & previously we submitted the TM30 on paper manually by travelling to the Immigration Office in Suphanburi and I had expected to do that again which is not terribly convenient for various reasons.

I see from Robert’s response that it can be done online or now on a phone app. Can you please confirm the current online location to complete the TM30 online & the name of the phone app?

I thought it was only possible to complete the online registration if you had completed a previous registration on paper manually – we did that previously in 2019 (the last time I was in Thailand) and so I assume this registration will not “count” & we shall have to go to Suphanburi to complete it manually this time and then register online to complete it online in the future – is this still correct?

And is the phone app the same (ie we must do a manual registration in Suphanburi first) or can we bypass that and register via the app for the first time?

Is the phone app in English & Thai or only Thai?

Thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster seeks clarification on completing TM30 registration for foreigners in Thailand, particularly if it can be done online or through a phone app for the first time without prior paper registration. In the comments, it's confirmed that registration can now be done online through the official immigration website or via a downloadable app. However, it appears prior manual registration may still be required before using these online options. The phone app’s language options and its usability for initial registrations were also questioned.

Time to close it down. I can do it at

does not help others.

The law is written in 1979 and in that time not each and every province had one or more Immigration Offices and therefor was the clause if there is NO office in your province you can do at local police station. BUT we are now in 2022 and in each and every province is an Immigration Office and it can be done on-line. USE the correct way to report your address, it is not much more difficult than posting your life story on Facebook.

In Chiang Mai and in another area I could just keep the slip. When I moved to the other province I would just change the paper and keep the other one somewhere else. I had never had any problem with that so far

you file a new TM30 every time you change addresses here, the old slips are no good because they're address specific 🙁

at the local police station but in Somdet, Kalasin. Hopefully can be done this year as well. Sometimes have to come back because “only big boss can do, him back tomollow” but only 5 minute by scooter

We do it at the Local Police station in Whichian Buri, never had a Problem.

that depend on immigration offices. Better to check with the immigration office in that province first if they allow TM30/section 38 registering at the local police station.

The owner of the house can make a registration on-line and when approved, all foreigners can be registered using the same on-line website :

OR

The owner can download the app and do the same:

If so we can then investigate whether a TM30 registration can be done at our local Police Station.

But do we still have to complete the first registration on paper manually in Suphanburi BEFORE we can register either online or via the app? Ie we shall have to go to Suphanburi to complete it manually this time and then register online to complete it online (or on the app) in the future?

, as long as your landlord can register his account for online system (you can use same account for both web and mobile apps), he can do your TM30 online anytime after. You don’t have to go to IO to submit your TM30 in person, for the first, second, or later report
