Hi

I've been told that you file for TR visa first before booking flights and ASQ hotel but no application forms allow you do that .they all ask you to upload flight details and ASQ hotel booking .

Am I doing something wrong or am I better off just going to consulate and handing in form and passport .

Any help appreciated.

PS . I'm in N.S.W

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking clarification on whether they need to book flights and an ASQ hotel in advance of applying for a TR visa for Thailand, as the application forms require these details. A response suggests that an anticipated booking screenshot is sufficient.

I’ll wait till 2025 to travel again.

You just need to upload an anticipated booking for the visa. Send them a screenshot of the flight and hotel you intend to book.

Much prefer system adopted by Malaysia. Apply for entry and come in when approved they assign rooms. You could get 3 star you could get 5. But costs are around

Rare the hotel gives refunds, they will give you credit, after first round in July where the system was messed up by lots of people booking ASQs even though they were not entitled to come in.

I know, I’m not actually planning on going until early next year but was curious. The flights I know I could change easily but I’m sure if my visa was rejected I could kiss the ASQ money goodbye

that is what I was afraid of maybe.

I'll lose the cost of the airline and I'll might get a refund with ASQ hotels

oh ok cheers mate

Easier than what i thought it would be

But what about the covid insurance ?? Same thing again ?

@To**
Honestly not sure about the insurance. I know the flight and hotel don't need to be booked for the visa, but they do for the COE.

You could try submitting it with the insurance plan you intend on buying and see what happens.
