I am planning on moving to Thailand for 6months in November. How would I achieve a stay for this duration in regards to visas? I’m slightly confused. Help please!

TLDR : Answer Summary
To stay in Thailand for 6 months, it's recommended to apply for a multiple entry tourist visa before arriving. This visa allows for a 60-day stay initially, which can be extended by doing border runs and local extensions at immigration. Some users have successfully extended their stay by combining visa types and making border crossings. It’s important to check specific requirements based on nationality and stay duration.

Some how i hit something on my phone which indicated i reported your post, I did not see a way to undo the error. I got up to get my coffee at Starbuck, Terminal 21, Bangkok carrying my phone and then noticed the mistake. Sorry.

I have a UK 6 month 60day multiple entry evisa,can stop for 60day then every time you leave and return you get another 60 days no need to get 30 day extensions, you can even leave a few days before the 6 months is is up and when you return you get another 60 that will take you past the 6 months expiry day and then you can get a 30 day extension, if worked right you can get nearly 9 months

I’ve been here for nearly 7 months,

I applied for a 60 day tourist Evisa in England, i extended once in Thailand to give me 90 days, i then did a border bounce to Laos that give me another 30 day entry stamp, i extended that again for 30 Days at local immigration, then i did another border bounce to get another 30 day entry stamp, i extended once more at local immigration for 30 days.

You can only do 2 land border crossings a year.

If i was to do another border bounce it would have to be by air, but i go home at the end of the month

For a six months stay it’s most convenient to apply for a six months multiple entries tourist visa at the embassy at home before you leave. You’ll have to do one border run or crossing and two local extension at the immigration to get a six months stay in total.

And
@Elizabeth ****
if you from the south of US you can see the requirements and apply online here;

Apply in your home country for a multiple entry tourist visa. With the correct extensions and border bounces you can get nearly 9 months off that visa.
