π¨ URGENT: Flight this Thursday - Need help with Thai Permit Amendment (AFCD Typo) π¨
Hi everyone, I am in a desperate situation and need a "miracle" contact or a Thai agent. I am moving from HK to Bangkok this Thursday morning (Feb 26) with my dog, Popo.
The Problem:
1. My dog's microchip was typed incorrectly by the AFCD on his original license (089 instead of 289).
2. Because of this, my Thai Import Permit was issued with the wrong number (089).
3. I have already fixed the HK License, but the HK AFCD refuses to endorse my Health Certificate until I show them an Amended Thai Import Permit with the correct number.
The Crisis:
The Thai Animal Quarantine Station (AQS) at Suvarnabhumi is not answering phones or emails. I have less than 48 hours to get the Thai permit amended so I can get back to the HK AFCD for the final endorsement (which takes half a day).
Does anyone have:
1. A direct WhatsApp/Mobile for an officer at Suvarnabhumi AQS?
2. A Thai Pet Agent who can physically walk into the Suvarnabhumi office tomorrow (Tuesday) morning to get this amended on the spot?
3. Any advice on how to get the HK AFCD to "conditionally" endorse if I can't reach Thailand in time?
I am extremely stressed. If I don't have the Thai permit by tomorrow (Tuesday) afternoon, I won't get the HK endorsement in time for my Thursday flight. Please help! ππΎ

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user urgently seeks assistance regarding an incorrectly typed microchip number for their dog's Thai Import Permit, which is crucial for traveling from Hong Kong to Bangkok with their pet. The situation involves rectifying the permit before the user's flight, and they are looking for contacts at the Thai Animal Quarantine Station, recommendations for local agents, and advice on navigating the endorsement process with the HK authorities.
My experience is that the departing airport will need the health cert and supporting documents, but they would not scan the rfid tag. Board and land in bangkok. At the asq, they will scan the tag, then act blur and say the hk side make a mistake, blah blah. Documentation can be rectified at the thai side. This would cause some delays of course.
It is my understanding that if you are traveling with the animal you can get an import permit issued at suvarnabhumi aqs. It is preferred to have the permit in advance but it is only required in advance if the animal is being shipped. Are you tra veling with pet in cabin? Perhaps you can show them that the Thai permit is not required before flight? (Also check with your airline). Prior to moving with my cat from the US, I heard several people say the Thai permit did not arrive before their flights, and they traveled anyway and handled it on arrival. See info in my reply below
John Cardona but he won't be allowed boarding without health certificate from HK...and they refused to issue because of the typo. I had to reschedule and pushed back 2 weeks bringing my pup from Japan to Bangkok in Nov.
RubyChestnut08 I am sorry for what you are going through. Unfortunate that your health certificate issuer is requiring that document. Best of luck and safe travels.
Jose Santana what's your problem? She must restart the whole process from the hocks. It takes between 7 and 14 weeks. Are you the dog-import expert here?
