Today I tried to renew my 90 day report In Bangkok (Chang Wattana) confirming my address. Unfortunately my 90 had passed (my own fault) and I was 5 days over. After checking on numerous Thai Immigration sites they all stated that you are allowed a 7 day grace period. However the Immigration Officer refused to accept the grace period of 7 days and requested 2,000 Baht as a fine. Can anyone confirm to me please that it is official that the 7 day grace period has in fact been officially scrapped. Thanks for your time.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user shared their experience of trying to renew their 90-day report in Bangkok after missing the deadline by five days. Despite various sources stating that a 7-day grace period exists, an immigration officer demanded a 2,000 Baht fine. The conversation reveals differing experiences among expats regarding enforcement of the grace period, questions about official regulations, and the overall handling of late reports at Thai immigration offices.

I left the country and came back and did not report that I returned..they considered that "I didn't report within 24 hours" and we were fined.

It was Phayao Immigration

Reporting your address within 24 hours after arrival using the TM30 form is a total different thing than reporting that you are longer than 90 days in Thailand with the TM47 form, But thanks for this information about an unknown Immigration Office.

"15 days before, or up to 7 days after.... ".. However, I am not seeing anywhere where it says No Penalty .. if done up to 7 days after..

May I thank everyone for their comments. It seems to me that everyone is sure that the 7 day grace is still in force. Thanks again.

Did you get a receipt for the ฿2,000? Typically Chaengwattana is good about giving them. If not it might be hard to recover if indeed you aren't using working days and it was only 5 days past the due date.

I did my 90 days report today morning and it was due at 12 December. As grace period, they did not fine me anything

I could be 100 baht/ after day. In your case I think just need to pay 500 baht. I used to delay 90 days reported for 90 days, and maximum payout is 2,000 baht.
Robert *******
Nope, the fine is 2.000 Thb, Not depending on days.

Could be, but it would not be the first person who thinks 7 days late is 7 working days late.
Robert *******
It is easy if you use google in the correct way:
