Morning guys, I remembered that, last year after covid outbreak, many of us under amnesty visa and Thai government said we don't need to do 90days report, right? I think I remembered that, and thought it was confirmed(read the announcement from the government). But today,I'm at muang thong Thani immigration office(the place for 90days report),the officer told me I have to pay the fine for late 90 days report???(overstay for 198days,he showed me on his computer)
Background: My last report was in April, and should do report in July. but I read the announcement that we don't need to do 90days report during that time,so I didn't do. my long-term stay permit under employment was cancelled in June, and I got new permit on 21October, so I thought today I should do report without fine.
There's another girl behind me has same situation. So I think maybe there are some one else has same situation like ours, if you guys do report now at muang thong thani, make sure you have 2000 thb cash with you,no ATM in the building. In case you really forget to take cash with you, but you have Thai bank app, just simply ask around who has cash and you do Bank transfer. ๐
TLDR : Answer Summary
A user shared their experience of being fined for not filing their 90-day report in Thailand after misunderstanding the amnesty situation following the COVID-19 outbreak. Despite believing that the requirement was waived based on a government announcement, they were informed by an immigration officer that their failure to report on time resulted in a 2,000 THB fine for overstay. Other users replied, clarifying that the amnesty for skipping 90-day reports had ended months earlier, and provided additional tips about payment and nearby ATMs.
