Hi,

a friend of mine just told me Pattaya has been included into the sandbox scheme? I can't find anything on it. Can somebody verify this?

Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation clarifies that Pattaya is not currently part of the sandbox scheme. Multiple comments confirm that while there are requests for inclusion, no official decision has been made, and travelers should consider alternatives like Phuket.

a free test that takes literally 1 minute isn't exactly like getting a colonoscopy while getting punched in the face by a kangaroo.

no but the hospital stay and their fee following a positive test stings at circa 200k

49 baht gets you a test you can take at home to guard yourself from a positive test out on town.

It is not. They are asking for it but Pattaya asks for many things they do not get.

I’m not suggesting there is a sandbox scheme. He said he couldn’t find anything. Also it’s not the official site of the Thai embassy anyway.

So I’ll answer his question.

No there’s no sandbox scheme for Pattaya.

so you linked him to an old article which some people would interpret there might be a Pattaya sandbox, instead of just writing your last comment

Sorry for trying to help someone out. He said he couldn’t find anything. I googled it that’s what came up. I didn’t read the freaking article.
