Do I count my 90-day reporting period from my reentry permit date or my extension date in Thailand?

Hello: I have a question about 90 Day reporting.

My family and I came in on a reentry permit on July 29. My wife is volunteering with an organization, and we are dependents.

We then applied for an extension of stay in September. My question is: do we count our 90 days from when we entered in July or from the extension in September.

Thanks for the help!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The 90-day reporting period should start from your re-entry permit date, which is July 29, and not from the extension date in September.

Counting 90 days should start from your re-entry not on extension.

Not always

. In imm. Korat, even if you went for your 90 days 3 or 4 weeks before, they take out that paper and put a new in, with a new 90 day date, from the date you applied for your extension. So it really depends on the imm. office.

you came in on a re-entry permit? <- that leads me to believe you HAD a previous extension and that in Sept you just applied for another year extension

Is that correct?

Yes: I did it all yesterday. But then I read conflicting reports about whether it works the first time AND that you are supposed to submit 15 days prior to the 90 day deadline.

We’re out of Bangkok Monday to Wednesday so now I’m trying to decide whether to just go in person today or hope the website works. Seems safest to go in person today.

Okay, great. Thank you so much for the help!

you might as well wait and see if it gets approved, I mean you can go in person up to 7 days AFTER the due date and not have any fine. you're out nothing by waiting it out and you'll be back in plenty of time to go file in person without a fine if it gets denied

@Matt ******
you read wrong, you can submit a 90 day report online from 2 weeks BEFORE the due date down until the due date. SO you could have submitted it online from the 12th of this month right up until the 26th

I ask because I submitted everything online, but it says pending.... I know lots of people have trouble with the online way

@Matt ******
you used this site right?

@Matt ******
there have been reports that people who did their first 90 day report online got approved AND there have been reports that people were rejected, so all you can do is keep checking the status or wait for the approval/rejection email

Okay! Thanks for the help. Will you allow a final related question: can our first 90 day report be done online or must it be done in person?

@Matt ******
89 days from your arrival date is Oct 26th, SO if you already were on a long term extension; where you were doing 90 day reports before you left that's when your next one would be due.

Getting a new extension doesn't affect the 90 day reporting dates UNLESS they give you a NEW 90 day report receipt when you get the extension (which I guess they didn't seeing as you're asking about when your report would be due 😛)
