Does the 90-day reporting requirement for a Thai retirement visa ever stop?

Hello, I have a Thai retirement visa and I’m required to do 90-day reporting. My next report is due in September, which will mark one full year on my retirement visa.

My question is: does the 90-day reporting requirement ever stop after a certain amount of time, or do I have to continue reporting every 90 days for as long as I remain in Thailand?

Thanks in advance for any advice from people who have been through this.
Answer summary
The 90-day reporting requirement on a Thai retirement visa is a continuous obligation that must be adhered to for as long as you are residing in Thailand. There is no end to this requirement unless you leave the country, at which point the 90-day reporting resets upon your return. If you apply for an LTR (Long-Term Resident) visa, the frequency of reporting may change to once a year. Many expats have shared their experiences, confirming that this is a mandatory process that can often be completed online after the initial in-person reporting.

The crazy thing is when you return to Thailand and the 90 day is reset. Your passport entry stamp is not dated. You are responsible and have to remember the date, so you can report 90 days later without being late

Only stops when you leave Thailand and then resets to day 1 again when you return. You should try the online method. It works well and Thai Immigration even sends you a reminder 15 days before your next report is due.

When I look to Europe I have the answer why a simple 90 days report is a needful instrument for a successful immigration process - I even think that only personal 90 days visit avoid abuse.

the only 30 day extension applications questions to be filled out are only read in Thai Language .after Covid they added 2 more sheets to be filled out .

Explain this one ?

You shouldn’t have to rely on a Thai girlfriend to help translate with this especially if she doesn’t speak English!

Thank Buddha at least I can speak Thai .

I'm glad that I can stay here long term, which isn't possible in all countries. Going to Immigration four times a year is no big deal. I chat with foreigners while waiting. Usually it takes less than half an hour.

I never stops but you can do online reports after the first report. Note this resets when you exit and reenter Thailand.

It's based on the assumption that you will have several Thai girlfriends. Don't let the dementia take their names from your mind. They don't like it, especially when you start to lose feature recognition. Call Ploy Lek and it could be over the balcony for you! May be best to try to not forget about balconies too!!!!

Only way to stop it is to get a LTR visa. Then it becomes a 1 year check. Which is mute for most people since most travel outside the country at least once a year.

After the first one you can do it online. If you leave and return to Thailand you will need to the 1st 90 day report in person than you can return to online

You need to know what the 90 days report is for and understand why you do 90 day report,

Simple answer ; depending if you are in the same address you have given and you have to report every 90 days you are in the kingdom,

However, if you leave the kingdom then no 90 day report stops until you return to kingdom and retirement visa still valid then The 90 day report starts from you enter kingdom

immigration wants a regular address confirmation while you remain in Thailand. If you leave and re-enter Thailand, the 90-day count resets from your new entry date.

You either do it, leave Thailand within the 90 days or pay the 2000 baht fine next visit to immigration if they spot you missed it. The good news is you won't get thrown in the Bangkok Hilton for not doing them .

The 90 day reporting is continuous and runs from either the last report or when you last entered the country which ever was last. This means that if you do a 90 day report and leave Thailand after 80 days the reporting stops until you return and a new 90 day period starts when you enter Thailand.
Christoph **************

It stops if you leave the country or upgrade to an LTR visa (then it’s just once a year - in case you don’t leave Thailand for a full year).

It never stops, unless you get citizenship at some point.

But people on retirement can't go that route, so for you it will end the day you either go elsewhere, or your life ends.

Welcome to Thailand. I've lived here for 25 years and still doing the 90 days report.

Unfortunately it doesn't stop. However the 90 days is reset after leaving the country temporarily.

Haven't a clue what Peter Loader is referring!

Pee_Mark🇹🇭 I've travelled all over the country. However I've lived in Bangkok, Hua Hin and now in Nong Khai.

Mostly in Hua Hin (over 20 years) and moved to Nongkhai as I'm getting older and look for a quiet life now.

Hua Hin used to be very good (haha. Before people had heard of it) but now it's become very expensive, too touristy and far too much traffic.
