If you’ve already had a METV from the London embassy. Does it make it easier to get the non O visa
Answer summary
Having a METV (Multiple Entry Tourist Visa) does not make it easier to obtain a Non-O visa for Thailand. The requirements for both visas differ, and a previous tourist visa does not influence the application process for a Non-O visa. If one wishes to stay in Thailand longer than a typical tourist period, they must meet specific requirements, such as opening a Thai bank account for an extension, which is not required for the METV.

Your past tourist visa entries has no bearing on your application for a type O visa. They both have different requirements.

Not at all. If you wanted a non-O visa, why did you apply for a tourist visa? You can only have 1 visa, so now you cannot get a non-O visa for 6 months. And if you don't already have a bank account in Thailand, you cannot get one as a tourist, so you won't be able to set yourself up to get a non-O in Thailand either.

i’m new to this so my understanding is if I wanna stay for four months as a 65-year-old Canadian I would get a tourist visa and then border bounce but now I’m hearing what about the O visa or maybe it’s a non-visa 💁 save me border bouncing, and whatever you have to do to do that ?

the only way to not border bounce with a non-O visa is if you apply for the 1-year extension which would require you to open a Thai bank account and deposit 800,000 baht in it. If you only want 4 months in Thailand, an METV is probably the simplest way to do that.

they are both the tourist visa. You can apply for a single entry tourist visa, or multiple entry tourist visa. I believe single entry is like $60? And the multiple entry is like $200.

do you know the difference in cost in the METV visa versus the tourist visa, As I am understanding, that is the only difference really you still have to leave after 90 days with either Visa, but ChatGPT is telling me that you can re-enter without not having to reapply using the METV visa ? verses with the tourist visa after the 90 days you have to reapply.? or some kind of computer paperwork?
