TLDR : Answer Summary
METV stands for Multiple Entry Tourist Visa, allowing multiple entries into Thailand over six months, with each entry granting 60 days initially, extendable for 30 days. SETV refers to Single Entry Tourist Visa, which is valid for 60 days upon entering Thailand and can also be extended for an additional 30 days. The Non-O visa is for long-term stays including retirement, marriage to a Thai national, or caring for a Thai child, with various conditions.

SETV Single Entrance Tourist visa, basically once you arrive the visa is complete, the visa is good for 60 days you can extend it for ฿1,900 at your local immigration office for 30 days giving you a total of 90 days in Thailand……..
METV Multiple Entrance Tourist Visa which means you can come and go as much as you want in the 6 months that’s it’s valid for, the METV each time you enter you receive a 60 day stamp which can be extended for 30 days at a price of ฿1,900 at your local immigration office, in total you can get 9 months in Thailand on the 6 Month METV…
the METV can only be purchased in a country(s) you hold a passport in or have a residency in, there is NO official limit on how many METV you can purchase in a row …
the SETV can be purchased at any Thai Embassy/Consulate fir a cost of ฿1,900, the unofficial limit is 3 SETV’s in a row but it’s unofficial so nobody knows, the Embassies and Consulates have a not so great communication system with the Royal Thai Police…good luck
unfortunately, that will be up to the immigration office or reviewing your application. From what I’ve heard if you do half of the year in Thailand and half of the year away, there’s never an issue.
