OP+ this morning they realized that they wrote 2020 instead of 2019 and crossed that too.

OPIt's ok though, they told me to bring the receipt only (from the police) as it might take longer than my Visa expiry date.

I have never heard of a year extension (based on marriage, retirement, raising half thai or 100% foreign children), requiring a police clearance BUT I have heard of year extensions based on working or volunteering requiring it at SOME immigration offices depending on nationality of the applicant

I did few days ago in Cheang Wattana and police clearance was not asked at all.
However, different offices has different requirement! Last year I did in Nonthaburi office and they asked for wittnes to verify our relationship! They interviewed the witness for an hour...

yeah, you need to apply every year for a new 1 year Extension of Stay, it is annoying that you can not apply for a 5 or 10 year Extension of Stay, but it is what it is.
