TLDR : Answer Summary
A user currently residing in Buriram with their Thai spouse seeks advice on transitioning from a 90-day Non-O visa based on marriage to permanent residency. They have 400,000 THB in a Thai bank account and want to understand the documentation required by the Buriram immigration office. Community responses suggest that Buriram immigration is user-friendly, with recommendations to gather requirements directly from the local office for the most current information, as needs can vary.

I always call the immigration office or visit if you can and ask them directly what you need.

These forums and pages offer great advice but listen to it from the horses mouth is always best.

I agree a marriage visa is a better option as you won't have 400,000 extra sitting doing nothing.

Buri Ram immigration is very easy to deal with, they are looking for normal printed photographs, we usually stick ours onto A4 paper.

Had a home visit the first year only.

Been doing visa at Buri Ram for 5 years since moving from Bangkok.

, it depends your condition if it’s more or less hassle. You need to consider them on your own.

You can enter on Non-O married to a Thai for 90 days, then apply for 1 -year extension being married to a Thai. The best is, to go to the local immigration office immediately after you arrive to get their LATEST handout of requirements.

Here is the general information for a 1-year extension based on being married to a Thai.
