What are the new visa regulations for travelers entering Thailand and how can one extend their stay?

@everyone

It is now confirmed that travelers arriving in Thailand are receiving 30-day visa-exempt entry stamps, with the change taking effect from midnight today.

Please plan your stay accordingly.

As a reminder, we offer door-to-door 30-day extension services in Bangkok for 5,000 THB, allowing you to complete your first extension without needing to leave your residence.

If you have enough time to apply for a 60-day Tourist eVisa before traveling, this is generally the better option if you intend to stay in Thailand for longer than 60 days.
Answer summary
Travelers arriving in Thailand will now receive a 30-day visa-exempt entry stamp, effective immediately. For those requiring an extended stay, there is a door-to-door service in Bangkok for a 30-day extension available for 5,000 THB. However, if you plan to stay longer than 60 days, it is advisable to apply for a 60-day Tourist eVisa before arriving in Thailand.

You just apply online and get rejected; you don't need an agent for that :D

Give it up the United States has basically stopped anyone from coming to the US unless you have big money.

For quite some time it has been difficult for Thais ** to get tourists visas to the US without evidence that assures the applicant has bonds to Thailand that would compel them to return to Thailand.

So, when you apply, be prepared to show assets and lists of people the applicant would not abandon.

I think there is little an agent can help with. I know of a case where the applicant paid a high price yet was refused.

One can always reapply with a fresh application fee each time.

Good luck!

** Thais and citizens of other countries that have racked up a substantial number of overstays and non-returns face extreme scrutiny.

Getting any visa to the USA involves a lot of paperwork and jumping through hoops, you can do it yourself on official Thai Web site but it takes several steps and currently several months. Baan Thai solutions in Bangkok are reputable but not cheap.

I prepared all the paperwork myself to bring my Thai girl for a visit to the States. It's not that difficult; just pay careful attention to what they're asking for. I had no problem getting her a tourist visa and the following year I applied for an immigrant visa for her and was approved. This was pre-covid, so I don't know how difficult it is to get a visa approved now days but filling the paperwork out isn't hard.

Mike Nichols the president has changed everything for visas if you go to the US Embassy in Bangkok you will see no one applying to go to the US from Thailand now.

Robert Nman again, not sure what the climate is for getting a visa approved lately but filling out the forms are not difficult. If visas are getting approved currently, an agent will not help

Good Luck. It's nearly impossible for most. If she has a good job here, has a decent amount in the bank, owns a home, and has children or parents under her care you can almost count on throwing the application fee down the toilet. A very short and fully detailed and planned visit for purpose might help or if she's your wife and you need help after medical treatment in the US it might help too. Don't ever change your plans after putting in your application. It will kill any chances for sure. Been there failed once.

Why would you even want to put her through all that, then risk having her deported by ICE if she does, by chance, get in?

Sean Franjesh it was hard for a Thai to go to the United States long before President Trump. It wouldn't be nearly as hard as it is now if we didn't have so many damn illegals in the country let in by your dear demented and senile Joe Biden.
Lisa ******
Lisa ******
John Tidona Trump literally paused immigrant visa processing for 74 countries, including Thailand. You're making this political when it's based on truth. This was something he implemented.
John ********

@Lisa *****
you're talking about Thai people going to the United States unfortunately politics has to do with that. If the Democrats had been responsible with our border we would not have this problem not to this degree. It's too bad that's just the way it is you can't help but bring this up that's the reason for it. Someday Democrats like you might wake up you really should you're from freaking Taipei.

before he implemented this hold it was very difficult for a Thai to go to the United States on a tourist visa. My wife and I tried before this temporary hold. He's the President now he has to make decisions. There's too many illegals that were let into our country, that's just the facts. We (Americans) have a lot of adversary countries right now so our country has to be extra careful.
Lisa ******
Lisa ******
Daren Liebig There is no need to bring up politics into this when someone was just stating the truth. Trump had put Thailand on the list where visas were no longer being processed. That is a fact, it is not political. The courts actually struck it down as illegal last month. But he had to bring up demented Biden, who has nothing to do with the conversation. Stick with the facts and stick to the topic. I came to Thailand to escape the politics of the US, to see people constantly bringing American politics into Thailand is tiresome.

when a country has trillions of dollars in debt, thousands of veterans and others sleeping in the streets - shouldn't you dedicate your resources to help your citizens before some other country's? Two kinds of people will come from "third world countries," as you put it. The uneducated, that will put a burden on our public benefit programs, education and health systems. And, the educated immigrants who drive down incomes of educated Americans because they're willing to take lower pay. Does that make any sense to you or do you just have a 😂 to respond with? That would be a typical Democrat response.

An agent did my wifes first tourist visa application, she was turned down. I checked the paperwork the agent gave my wife and found the agent made many errors.

After a year, I filled out her paperwork myself. No errors, filled out to the letter correctly. She got her visa. Agents are a scam. Most are worthless and the embassy knows it. The visa was for the United States.

No, not really. Someone may say they can but she has to qualify on her own merits. The Thais I know who got visas have kids in a US university or have family in the US. My friend's wife and a friend of my wife were both turned down and both women are married to US citizens in Thailand. Read the requirements, they are not flexible. Even applying for a tourist visa the applicant has to be interviewed and prove to the officer that they are only going to stay temporarily, in essence have a large income and own a large business that you need to get back to after a relatively short visit.

Agents mean nothing. The only thing they are able to do is paperwork preparation.

Visa processing is a very straightforward and transparent procedure. No need of helping hands, of course, if you hand millions and do not mind spending it, go for it.

I applied for PR & citizenship for myself and my two children. Pay $0.00 to an attorney or agents. Along the process I’ve gained knowledge and experience that allows me to help others .
Fizul *********

Unlike the Thai process that can dip and waiver depending on the region in Thailand.

Craig **********

Across the street from the Thai consulate in LA are services that offer advice and are usually straight forward with the latest updates, like the court striking down the pause on Thai immigration last month to the US...although with such a backlog it will likely be months before applicants see any headway...as for tourism its always been ongoing however, the amount of scrutiny on income and available resources is increased, this means that even though a US citizen sponsor may have financial resources to bring someone to the US for a tourist visa, they will treat it as the individual Thai citizen seeking entry and with that the Thai citizen would do well to establish financial independence and significant ties to their life and or business in Thailand that shows they will indeed return to Thailand and not become a charge to the US following their stay.
