TLDR : Answer Summary
The question addresses the entry requirements for UK passport holders coming to Thailand, specifically regarding health certificates. One member clarifies that the boyfriend will enter Thailand on a 30-day visa exempt entry stamp rather than a visa on arrival, suggesting a mix-up in terminology.

And yet again another post where poor choice of terminology almost threw the whole thing off the rails.

Grace, IF a UK passport holder doesn't BUY a visa to thailand BEFORE they wing their way here they do NOT get a "visa on arrival" :O

They get in for FREE on what's called a 30 day visa exempt entry stamp.

Sorry for the mix up with my earlier answers I deleted them

right, I saw that, they are BOTH brits BOTH in india, and ONE has a valid tourist visa and the other will enter on a 30 day visa exempt entry stamp ;)

Ahh, hang about I see what you're saying

You are both brits (and coincidentally both in india) and you have a valid single entry tourist visa to thailand BUT your BRIT boyfriend will fly in on a 30 day visa exempt entry <- NOT a visa on arrival
