Hi everyone,

I have a Non-immigrant B visa and work permit. Have my parents viaiting me later this month on a tourist visa. Was told that they need to apply for a dependent visa and not a tourist visa. Can someone confirm if this is true? Cheers!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring whether their parents need to apply for a dependent visa or if they can visit on a tourist visa. Responses confirm that a tourist visa is appropriate for short visits, and that as long as their stay is 60 days or less, they can enter Thailand without needing a dependent visa.

They're fine on a regular tourist visa as long as they're staying 60 days or less

Guessing that your parents are just coming for a holiday? If so, coming on a tourist visa is totally the correct thing to do. How long are they visiting for?
