Thanks for all the info on this group, it has answered most of my questions about going for an extension of temporary stay. We are an Australian family and arrived in Phuket on a visa exemption.
In the info sheet provided in this group it states you can't wear shorts. My husband and 2 teenage boys have dress shorts and closed in shoes and appropriate shirts but no long pants to wear to the office. Do they need long pants?
If so, I'll book them in for a shopping trip. They won't be excited but I will be, ha ha ha! 😁
We will be going to one of the Phuket offices, looks like we should book the appointment online. I've found the site and link to "Queue Online" just haven't tried to do it yet. Do you recommend this and shall I make 4 appointments?
Thank you.
TLDR : Answer Summary
An Australian family seeking to extend their temporary stay in Phuket asked whether their dress shorts would be acceptable at the immigration office, as they heard about a dress code against shorts. Community responses confirmed that dress shorts are generally acceptable as long as they are paired with closed-toe shoes and appropriate shirts. They also advised that booking an appointment online is not strictly necessary, particularly if they avoid peak times, and that immigration offices in Phuket tend to have a relaxed atmosphere without long waiting times.
