Hi, I have 2 questions for the moderatorsโฆ first is, Iโm from the uk and arrived in Phuket and got the visa exempt for 45 days.. I would like to extend and am now in bkk, where do I go for this extension?
And I will be flying out to Australia for a week and then heading back to Thailand, I do have a few stamps this yearโฆ is it better advised to go back in to Phuket rather than Bangkok as heard bkk is being a lot stricter with amount of Stamps in passportโฆ and would I be better off to apply for tourist visa whilst in Sydney? Or voa when I land? Thanks ๐๐ผ

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user, from the UK, inquired about extending their 45-day visa exempt entry at the immigration office in Bangkok and sought advice on whether to reenter Thailand through Phuket or apply for a tourist visa in Sydney due to concerns over previous entry stamps. It was advised to go to IT Square Laksi Plaza in Bangkok for the extension, and entering through Phuket could be less scrutinous compared to Bangkok. However, there are no guarantees against being questioned at either location.
on a visa exempt entry in Bangkok you go to IT Square Laksi Plaza on the 3rd floor to get an extension. There are copy shops next to the office to do copies, photos etc.

As far as IF you will be questioned comin' in visa exempt (there is no VOA for Britz) that is just down to luck of the draw. Bangkok has a higher chance of questioning you, but people have been pulled aside in Phuket too.
Having a tourist visa in your passport is no guarantee that you'll skate thru without questioning either, all it does is IF you're let in gets you stamped in for 60 days.
appreciate your input mate.. Todd already clarified for me.. and was asking due to the fact a few months ago there was very much advice on where to go into and not ๐๐ผ
it's totally going to come down to previous entry/stay history here as far as if you get questioned stamping in. Believe me all it takes is the push of a button and passport control can see MANY years of entry & stay history to thailand..
no VOA for brits either, you're confusing the terminology. You just show up and get in on a FREE entry stamp, it's not a VOA, it's not a tourist visa, it's not a visa at all, just a free entry stamp.
