JUST A HEADS UP OF MY EXPERIENCE
Currently on Koh Phangan. Need to extend my visa. The immigration office here is not a pleasant place to be. It is very busy and super strict. Yesterday I arrived in the afternoon with all my documents, after queuing for an hour, the initial clerk checked them all, all fine, then because I had 5 days (2 of which are a weekend) left on my visa he would not let me proceed any further as he was letting people with a shorter time left go first. Come back tomorrow or next week. If I was in that position I would appreciate this. So OK off I go. Returned today, queued for just over an hour again to be told that my TM 30 was wrong. It was OK yesterday but not today !!!!! So back again tomorrow and then the next day to collect. They do not process on the same day. There are so many very unhappy people there, including the staff. If you have to go, allow plenty of time, assume you will be sent to the back of the queue at some point. Do not wear a vest top, they will rent you a shirt, they love you if you wear a face mask - do it for the points. Take water and snacks for in the queue. Wish me luck
