Looking for some advice please.. I applied for STV e visa and no where on the application did it ask for my health insurance to be uploaded..

Is this correct? do they ask for additional documentation further down the line or isn't it needed? all the infographics mention insurance for the STV.

How long does this application take? TIA

TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for the STV e-visa, health insurance is not requested in the initial application form. However, it is required later in the process, particularly for the Thai Pass, which necessitates proof of insurance coverage with a minimum of $50,000 for the duration of stay. The application process typically takes about 15 working days for the visa, plus an additional 7 days for the Thai Pass.

While there is nothing asking for insurance when you fill out the form . I've just had request for more information this morning and one of the points is insurance .

Same requirements as TP . $50,000 cover for duration of stay .

They say allow 15 working days for visa and another 7 for Thai Pass

that's good to know. Not travelling until 15th Dec so hopefully it's all back in time.

I was curious what the turnaround time was processing your STV?

it was for my inlaws, they're here now and the processing time was only 10 days. We heard literally nothing during that time so were concerned it might not be happening but well pleased with the result in the end.

Thai Pass will require it later to get QR code for entry to Thailand

I am holding off applying for the Thailand pass until I get the STV. I think it's strange that they mention this as a requirement for the STV and its not asked for on the application.

ok so I can get on with that then. I was concerned about needing 30 days validity for the NHS QR code which you download.

doesn't make sense to me. You would have thought that one can't be got without the other. You need to prove this for the visa and without that you wouldn't be able to apply for the Thailand pass. I don't hold out much hope on having contact from the embassy in London.

visa is optional, you can go visa exempt but Thai Pass is mandatory

yes I know everyone has to do this etc, you are meant to apply for a visa first so I'm hoping that because of this its a given that you'll have insurance as you need it to get the Thailand pass.
