TLDR : Answer Summary
The inquiry discusses the necessary documents for extending a Non-O visa in Thailand, specifically whether the original blue book (house registration document) needs to be taken to Immigration. Responses from the community emphasize the importance of having a TM30 registration, a rental agreement, bank statements, and suggest that while some documents are rarely requested, it's wise to bring originals just in case. There is a consensus that requirements can differ by immigration office, and confirming with the local office is advisable.

TM30 is what they really want to see.

Tabien Baan not required

Copy will suffice

Passport

Copy of Landlord ID

Lease

Banking:

Do it all the same day.

Bank nice and early.

First up, do a transaction.

Small withdrawal at ATM

Update your Savings book

Ask for your bank letter- Costs 200Baht

Direct to immigration

- Get copying and form filling. Immigration Office’s vary. Some helpful, some not. As previously suggested a visit to confirm the exact requirements is sensible.

Request any Single or Multi entry stamps when you hand over the completed paperwork.

If you don't take it, they'll ask you for it. If you do take it, they'll say you don't need it. 😎

Adam Thom exactly, that's why I advise - never be pro-active on Immigration (but stick to the handout listing)

John Mozley I am surprised that you received many replies to your question about the bankbook and the bank statements, but NOBODY told you that you will need to show an ATM receipt of a small withdrawal on the same day the bankbook gets updated and the bank letter issued. NOBODY told you. But they hand out advice

Max Marriott I got a yellow housebook and pink ID-card, but my Immigration has NEVER asked for any of these things when I apply for the annual extension. Never in 17 years. You don't need that stuff. All you need is a proper TM30 registration

Gary Cooper yeah - it was a bit of a hassle and I needed four visits on the Amphur office. But finally got through. And BTW I told Max he doesn't need any of that stuff for an application to the annual extension of stay permit

regarding the bank statement: before you enter the Kasikorn bank, withdraw a smallish amount at the ATM outside of the bank, and keep the ATM receipt. Immigration might want to see it. Then enter the bank, ask for the "bank letter of guarantee" (rab roong thanakan) and get the bankbook updated.

Gary Cooper it would be impossible to get a 3 months statement if he opened his bank account on a 90-days Non-Imm-O visa and transferred the required funds within the first 10 to 20 days. He could only comply with a 3-months seasoning statement for all future applications 🙂

John Mozley well, it never was a requirement for the application to the one-year extension, to supply a copy of the blue housebook, the ID-card of the landlord or the rental contract, if you are still properly TM30 registered. What I however like to add, you could bring all these things with you, but I advise you not to be pro-active at the Immigration office. Only show these if asked . . . .By the way . . have you not visited your Immigration and asked them for the handout listing of the required documents?

I’d be surprised if they wanted original blue book and ID because most Thais won’t give their ID card to a stranger

Nongnuch Kamdee you are not correct — you should be careful what you tell people and direct them to check with their immigration office. Bangkok immigration told me they wanted the following which I supplied when I applied for my extension of stay:

Here are the documents I provided to Immigration Officer with my apprilcation:

1. Original Passport

2. Copy of Passport Bio Data Page

3. Copy of Visa Entry Stamp Page

4. Copy of Thai Non-O Immigration Visa signed off by IO upon entry in Bangkok

5. TM-30

6. Copy of Property Owners ID Card

7. Copy of Property Registration Document

8. Copy of Airbnb Booking

9. Hand Drawn Map

10. Certificate of Deposit from Bank (one in Thai and one in English)

11. Two Months Bank Statements

12. Updated Bank Book and Copy of Updated Bank Book -- Bank Book was updated today the day of application.

13. Passport Photo

ResilientCrocodile6133 the problem here is, John Mozley has never visited his Immigration to ask for the handout list of the requirements. You are telling him requirements that apply to the Bangkok Immigration office, without knowing where he is going to apply. How would we know if your list is correct on the office he visits? Myself I don't need even half of that stuff you listed, on my Immigration😃

ResilientCrocodile6133 6. Copy of Property Owners ID Card

7. Copy of Property Registration Document . . . . . . . . NEVER needed any of this sort. The TM30 registration is required, the TM30 already proves the accomodation, the house, the property.

ResilientCrocodile6133 complete bollocks in bangkok. . . I apply for the extension every year, since 17 years. I do neither need a rental contract (I live in my GF's house for free) I never needed her ID-card nor her blue housebook and only half of that stuff you listed. I only need 2 passport pictures if I apply for a re-entry permit. I NEVER needed passport picture for the application to the extension - they take a pic of me digitally.

Nongnuch Kamdee what you have to provide is not likely what someone else will be asked for at another office as you very well know. Your comments here are useless to anyone who uses an immigration office other than yours. I have recently obtained a new 12 month extension based on retirement and had to provide copies of house owners ID card and house book along with a map showing house location which you haven't mentioned.

Jonny Larsson 😳😳😕😕 for an application to a 1-year extension of stay?? Out of which nose have you pulled this WRONG information? You are completely wrong. No chanote needed, and even a rental contract is generally not needed if he is properly registered TM30 (it can get asked for but this is absolutely rare)

have you not been registered in your accommodation per TM30 by your landlord, yet ? It would have been the first thing he should have done within 24 hours of you moving into the premises. Immigration will not service you in case you are not TM30 registered
