Does an expired ED Visa automatically put you under amnesty in Thailand, and what are the deadlines for applying for a 30-day extension?

Hi, looking to check with you the next information.

Once a ED Visa expired (not cancelled) you be will automatically under amnesty? From there I understand that I have until Sept 26 to present the Embassy letter (that I already have) for the special 30 days extension under consideration.

Are this thoughts correct? Thanks!

Great question. I believe the answer is yes. I want Tod to answer the question in the morning though. Remember though, there's only 4 more days to get an extension.
