If I apply and get accepted do they have to know what date I will arrive in Thailand to collect the Visa? Can I enter several months later after submittal? Not sure when I will re-enter but I would like to secure this visa in the event things change. Thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for a Thai visa, you do not need to specify your arrival date at the time of application. Once your visa is approved, it is valid from that approval date, and you can enter Thailand at a later time, within the validity period. Generally, you will not need to 'collect' the visa physically; instead, it is often issued as a PDF document that you present each time you enter Thailand during the five-year validity of the visa.

There's no collection of the visa. You are sent a pdf to print out, and that's what you show to enter every time during the 5 year period. The visa is valid from the day it is approved.
