Excuse me, I wasn't clear with my DTV. Every time I enter Thailand, does immigration ask me for my registration for the cooking course???? Thank you, have a nice day.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The inquiry addresses whether Thai immigration asks for proof of registration for a cooking course every time a foreigner enters the country on a Destination Thailand Visa (DTV). Responses from the community indicate that, currently, immigration does not specifically require such documentation upon re-entry. However, arrangements may change over time, and there could be checks to ensure compliance with visa requirements. Users agree that, as of now, there have been no reports of anyone being denied entry for not having new registration for a cooking course.
You need to be able to at least cook up a tasty padthai for the IO on entry

I don't think they will start refusing entry for that, otherwise the rules would have said something about it at the time of application. They will refuse entry if they suspect a fraudulent application etc
I wouldn't be worried about something that hasn't happened. Just keep upto date with any further rules changes etc
I think he just is intelligent enough to understand general rules about all visa whereever in the world.
In this group a lot of people think that once they get a visa there are no rules anymore.
Some might not be intelligent enough to understand it can not work that way, for others it is just wishful thinking.
Fact is that Oleg just is right, immigratiion always is allowed to ask for proof that the visa you present covers the purpose of stay.

For now, that isnât really the case (except for some checks in CM), but that doesnât mean it canât change. Immigration has the right to perform any type of check to ensure you are fulfilling your visa requirements.
I have the same inquiry and concern, we were told to register for a six month course. But after the six month course finishes and we re-enter on our approved DTV, will they not allow us in because we do not have a new six month course?
I not compare two types visa with each other, I just give general rules about ALL visa, you're the one that wants to distinguish between visa and want to see difference, I only tell what is common for ALL visa.

Anonieme deelnemer 166 The visa is in your case for attending a course, when the course is finished, there is no reason to stay anymore, so in case they check you, you might have a problem because you abuse the visa.
you are incorrect, the DTV is not just for attending a course in this case. Having a booked course is just one of various pathways to obtaining a DTV. By its very nature itâs a tourist visa. Once you complete your course (or never even attended as attendance is also not a requirement) you are free to spend the rest of your five years traveling around Thailand on tourist status border hopping every 180 days. There is no ongoing requirement to attend any course, you are exercising your right as a tourist.
When a reference to MFA is not a source anymore, that tells a lot about your knowledge.
I would like to see you make this same kind of remarks when at entry an IO asks you something, but I think you will not be that stubborn anymore and just accept what the IO tells you.
just ask MFA and they will tell you the same, I don't compare tourist with non-o, I just explain some basic visa rules, you simply don't understand, and it is a waste of time to explain to you, but this group will have more intelligent user who will understand, so in total it is not a waste of time.
where did you get information the visa requirements stop before the visa ends? It is normally in the whole world when you get a visa the requirements are for the whole visa period, so when this Thai DTV was different they would mention that somewhere, I did not find, and up till now nobody could show me where that exception is mentioned, so it would help very much if you could.
What is the part you don't understand? The course is the reason itself you get the DTV softpower visa, just like a job with work permit is the reason for a work visa. When the job stops, you cannot use the work visa anymore to visit the country. DTV is not a kind of entrance ticket for 5 years as a lot of people here seem to believe. It is a visa valid for five years and aimed at people who want to do one or more softpower activities in periods of up to half a year. There is no need for a 5 year course, you can also have several courses during those 5 years, but should not be in the country at the periods in between. Most people need to periods in berween anyway to make money in their home country, because working in Thailand is prohibited on DTV.
