Hi All :)

I'm an Italian citizen and passport holder, I'll soon be issued a 60 days tourist visa, once I'll get in Thailand I'll apply for a non immigrant type O. Because I was supposed to get a non immigrant type O already, I booked a one way flight ticket to Bangkok,

can someone please tell me if I'll have to show at the immigration a flight ticket to leave Thailand within 60 days upon my arrival?

Thank You :)

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster, an Italian citizen, inquired whether they would need to present a flight ticket indicating departure from Thailand within 60 days upon arrival with a tourist visa. Community members shared insights suggesting that while showing proof of onward travel is generally required, it may not be strictly enforced for 60-day tourist visa holders. Advice varied, with some suggesting purchasing an inexpensive flight or bus ticket just in case, while others noted that it is rarely requested at immigration.

A flight out ticket is cheap as chips as we say . As you will not be going to use it you can go for the cheapest on cost only . Currently from Phuket a one way flight to siem reap as the cheap option less than 2000 baht . I mean I have one for February that cost 1200 . Or get a bus ticket to somewhere .

You can choose any option you want purely on price . To prove onward travel

, you do realize that no matter what the thai consulate says it's totally up to the airline you're winging your way here on whether they require proof of onward travel to let you board or not. As was pointed out some airlines let you sign a waiver stating if you're denied entry you will pay your own way back.

Now IF you are allowed to board the plane you're not gonna have any problem with passport control entering the country at all.

Thank to who tried to help :)

I double checked the embassy website and called the embassy as well. They both said that showing a flight ticket to leave Thailand is required for who holds a 30 days visa exemption, for 60 days tourist visa holders the ticket to leave Thailand is not required :)

I've heard Qatar wont let you on without a documented flight out of Thailand. I doubt their staff have been trained to anything beyond "if no return ticket tell them no" and not in the spesifics off different Visas.

Sometime.They ask for return ticket

Bro I don't know much but every time on my arrival they demand for return air ticket along with the hotel booking.

In case anybody don't have anything in the above mentioned requirements I don't know may be they detain the passenger for inquiry or deport but as per my knowledge if you have much cash more than 20 thousands baht then it's not a problem

In that case, considering that I have a one way ticket already, what would be the cheapest option? A one way flight ticket to Laos or Cambodia to show that I'm leaving Thailand?

I do not think they would ask it at the Bangkok airport. Officially they could, together with a financial proof (10,000 baht) and lodging proof, every time you enter Thailand but almost NEVER ask for them. Mostly it is a document that can be asked by the embassy you are applying tourist visa at. I would daresay not to worry at all ...
