Hello Group, I ask for my girlfriend, she come from Europe in "test &go" scheme, she had received the Thai Pass as Tourist , but we have a doubt . During Thai pass request was asked for date of departure and not the flight ticket to exit Thailand at the and of Visa Period. Is mandatory to have a Flight ticket to leave Thailand at the end of the Visa Period (30Day) ? Thanks in advance for support .

TLDR : Answer Summary
When entering Thailand under the 'Test & Go' scheme on a tourist visa, having a flight ticket for departure is typically necessary for boarding with airlines. While immigration may not check for this upon entry, airlines often require proof of an onward flight within the allowed stay (usually 30 days) to avoid issues at check-in. If an individual is on a long-term visa (like NON-O), an onward flight is not mandatory, but for tourist visas, a ticket out of Thailand is generally required.

I believe the date of departure relates to the Test & Go hotel booking, not to the whole trip

For Thailand Pass it's not important. Immigration probably won't care either. But the airline will probably not allow boarding without a ticket out of Thailand within 30 days if entering on visa exempt 30 day stamp.

Stock answer as asked many times here.

If you are entering on a long term visa, like a Non O or Non OA or Thailand Elite you do not need an onward flight out from Thailand.

If on a visa exempt entry or tourist visa you need to have a flight ticket out of Thailand within the amount of days that your initial entry allows, regardless that you can get an extension in country. It doesn’t need to be a return ticket, any ticket out of Thailand will suffice.

In theory immigration can deny you entry if you don’t but they rarely ever would, because they know you can get an extension.

Almost always the hang up will be when you try to board your plane. Many airlines will not allow you to board without an onward ticket within the number of days.

Some will let you. Many won’t. You probably don’t want to be the one scrambling to buy an onward ticket at the check in desk. Best option is a changeable ticket, and just change the date when you’re here.

Alternatively you can Google “onward flight ticket” and you’ll find a plethora of companies willing to sell you one for around $10.

You’ll probably get a number of replies saying “I managed to enter with no problem, therefore you won’t have one either.” Well you won’t find out which way it’ll go until you get to the check in desk.

Sorry I’ve not used one so I’m not sure who’s “reputable” or not.

hi, last stupid question, where did you see that $35 ticket, being sold? Thanks again, Jason.

Skyscanner. May have got £ and $ mixed up. Random date in January was showing £39.

no worries. I suppose at ten bucks a pop, I could just buy a whole bunch of them and keep handing them over to the airline check In until, they find one they like. I intend to fly business class and stay 65 days. I think I will play it conservatively and buy the cheapest ticket directly from a reputable airline. I don’t care if it costs fifty, a hundred dollars or what ever. I won’t risk it all on a potentially dodgy ticket from an unknown provider. Then when I’m in Thailand, get the visa extension.
