TLDR : Answer Summary
An Italian expat heading to Thailand without a return flight is concerned about potential check-in issues. Community members advise that airlines often require proof of onward travel before boarding, recommending services like 'onwardticket.com' for affordable booking solutions. Experiences vary; some travelers report no issue boarding with a one-way ticket, while others recommend having some form of onward ticket as a precaution, given differing airline policies.

The first problem is when you check in for your flight to Thailand. It is their responsibility to make sure that those passengers that do not have some form of residency status have onward travel prior to their visa allowance. If the airline allows you to board the aircraft and immigration in Thailand checks for your outbound travel. The airline can be fined and you could be sent back on the next flight

Just do a google search on 'best dummy ticket website' and have a look at results.

Vai sul sito "onward ticket" e compri un biglietto a 15 dollari... In genere viene richiesto all'imbarco da molte compagnie...

I have the same issue. I land on 1st march and get the 45 and will look to extend but havent got a return flight as I dont know exactly when I'm leaving. Last time I went nothing was checked but if challenged ill just book q return flight and change it later

I am a retiree here in Thailand but i have never taken the risk to have a one way and at Toronto airport I have always been asked to show my return ticket. So what i did was to cancel my return ticket the first time and now when I visit any other place i just buy a return ticket from BKK to the other country and back. saves all hassels

i don't know it if will work but I have obtained a dummy booking from a local travel agent just to show and then the booking is cancelled after 24 hours. But i have never shown that at an airport so i don't know.

which airline?

Ive been asked to show an onward ticket a few times, flying from Europe, better to have one than be refused boarding.

If you are unlucky, the airline guest will not take you if you do not have a return flight.

@Mark *****
Poor advice. Return ticket not required. Onward ticket will suffice
Jared **********
you need an exit flight for a simpler term

Or bus ticket

Your airline will very likely want to see onwards flight before they allow you to board. I used the service Luc linked too :) fast and cheap
