With an education visa do you generally have to be present for the 90-day report or can the school do it on your behalf?

TLDR : Answer Summary
Regarding the 90-day report while on an education visa in Thailand, it is generally understood that anyone can submit the report on your behalf as long as they have your passport. However, there are specific instances, particularly concerning Extension of Stay applications, where personal presence at the Immigration Office may be required for procedures such as taking a digital photo. It is also advisable to stay vigilant about immigration regulations related to education visas, as authorities may closely monitor compliance.

ANYONE can do a 90 day report for you with the form and your passport.

Bill I would caution you about not being in Thailand while you are on an Ed Visa...or missing your 90 day reports. Immigration appears to be watching closely those on Ed Visas and departing Thailand or not being present for required reports.
Anyone can do your 90 day report for you (as long as they have your passport).

you are correct, but the person does not have a visa that allows him to be longer than 90 days inside Thailand and gets as long as the school backs it up a 90 day Extension of Stay.

For every application for an Extension of Stay you have to be present at the Immigration Office. Part of the procedure is taking a digital picture of you.
