I reported my residents address after came back from my border bounce in Cambodia. I been traveling around many provinces during this 3 month and stayed in many hotel. I report in Pattaya and asked about travel inside Thailand and same as last time when you travel around in Thailand staying in hotel they do the reporting. You do not have to report back to jomtien. However if you decided to stay in your house in Pai for a week you must report it. If you go overnight to your mistress in bkk one night they not care. One guy very cleverly said I sleep on the bus ๐ŸšŒ to avoid the fee of not reported when he arrived. The only people that was fined of the 50 saw was people who stayed with gf and never report. 50 people was done in less than than an 30 min by 3 polite immigration ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™€๏ธ

TLDR : Answer Summary
The process of reporting your residential address in Thailand can vary depending on circumstances and location. After returning from a border run in Cambodia, the original poster reported their address in Pattaya and shared experiences regarding the necessity of reporting during travels. It seems there are inconsistencies in the enforcement of address reporting, particularly in Jomtien. While some travelers received fines for not reporting their stays in hotels, others managed to avoid issues. It's generally advised to report stays at private residences to avoid fines, as the rules seem to differ based on individual cases.

No need to start to discuss. In Jomtien enforcement of address registration seems to differ on case to case basis. So go and visit the Immigration Office on return back in Jomtien or face the fine.

Not correct, two weeks ago Jomtien fined several foreigners for failing to report (TM30) after they went and stayed in hotel in Bangkok (hotel) and returned. One old guy even argued that Jomtien previously told him (like you) that he did not need to report when traveling within Thailand for short trips, and he only went to Bangkok (hotel) and back.. he still had to pay fine!

It's very inconsistent, safer to report always, only takes 5-10 minutes usually anyway ๐Ÿ™‚

Anders Guldenskold you are perfectly wrong again!

It was not a friend of a friend, I was the person who witnessed them questioned and being fined - 3 people directly in front of me!

I heard the entire conversations, as I sat less than 1 meter away from the foreigners and IO.
