Hello. I own a house in Phuket and am registered at that address. I am now planning to travel through Thailand and would like to know if I need to inform immigration before I leave and/or after I come back? I am staying in hotels along the way and assume that they have to register me anyway. Do I still have to do something myself? Thanks a lot .

TLDR : Answer Summary
If you own a house in Phuket and plan to travel through Thailand, you do not need to inform immigration about your departure. However, you must inform them upon your return by filing a TM30 form within 24 business hours. Hotels are required to register you as a guest, so they will take care of the TM30 as well. The requirement for the TM30 applies only when you return to the country from overseas.

I asked the same question yesterday at our chumphom I.O they said no need to report if travel around thailand, report again 24hrs when you arrive back in thailand from o,seas

and again SOME offices went to only filing a TM30 when you come back from abroad but some still want you to file one when you come back from in country travel too.

CHECK with your immigration office to see what they require at that office.

Different immigration offices have different policies

It depends on the immigration office. According to the TM30 form, you must report yourself no later then 24 business hours after arriving at a location.

You do not need to let immigration know when you leave, however you must let immigration know when you return. When you return, you will file a TM30 no later then 24 business hours after you return. You can do it in person, or use one of the following three programs:

Yes, the hotels will file the TM30 for you.

>Do I still have to do something myself?

Only file the TM30 when you return.
