Hi guys

I have a DTV and my wife has a DTV ,we are planning to enter Thailand next month. Is it necessary to put my 1 year old son on a DTV now or would it be fine if I only put him on the DTV after the first 180 days? I have seen a few posts saying that kids under the age of 3 do not need a visa if they are accompanied by their parents?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires whether it's necessary to obtain a DTV visa for their 1-year-old son when entering Thailand, noting that they and their wife hold DTVs. The discussion highlights that while children under 14 do not incur fines for overstays, it is advisable to secure a visa for the child to avoid complications or questions at the airport and ensure insurance coverage.

Kids below 14 don’t get fined for overstays but I suggest to do the visa for your child. You can get further visas requests being refused/ have tons of questions at the airport…. Spare yourself a headache.

Children do not get fined for overstay but they still get stamped in for a certain period. I am assumjng you woud be bringing them in on a 60 visa exempt passport? The biggest risk discussed is that a person is not covered by any insurance if on an overstay as they are not in the country legally.
