Hi. I just arrived 2 days ago from the Thai embassy in Hanoi, I couldn't get a 60 days tourist visa because I didn't have an outbound flight from Thailand, so I will get just 30 days at the airport. All financial requirements were ok. Do you if at Savannakhet there are also asking for an outbound flight ? Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user reports issues obtaining a 60-day tourist visa due to lacking an outbound flight ticket and seeks clarification on whether Savannakhet requires proof of an outbound flight for visa applications. Responses indicate that most consulates require such proof, except for the Vientiane consulate, but some users mention not being asked for an outbound ticket in the past.

I don't think they will board you at your departure airport.

At this time the ONLY consulate around that doesn't require proof of onward travel is the one in Vientiane. All the rest require it.

Why didn't you buy a bus ticket from bangkok to siem reap as proof of travel? The consulate would have accepted it

Don't easily give up so soon. Go back and apply again with an outbound ticket.

why not just buy a cheap bus ticket?

Just buy the cheapest one way ticket from BKK to anywhere. You already there, you already spent around

bht to be there or more,so just buy a ticket and apply again

Nobody wants to book proper flights. Nobody wants to get proper visas for purpose of stay.

The time is fast approaching where all Embassys are on to it.

because you have to decode the question posted. It decodes to 'How can I circumvent the Embassy requirements as I have been denied a visa and now I am very upset and need help as my mum is no use in this situation'.

Yeah, next time.

Surely you’d book a flight then cancel it. 🤔

Although it's technically a requirement, I have never been asked for evidence of an outbound flight at any airport in Thailand.

Martin Buckhan tourists arriving in Thailand are supposed to have proof of an outgoing flight and the equivalent of

baht CASH. Thing is, they don’t ask for these...until they do! Even if you arrive with a valid tourist visa, the proof of an outgoing flight, and the cash, the immigration officer has the right to refuse you entry to Thailand for whatever reason they see fit. That’s right...even if you have a fresh and valid visa.

I thought it was the departure airport that checked you had a return ticket.

Joe Bec I was responding to this part of your post “Do you if at Savannakhet there are also asking for an outbound flight?” It seemed like you wanted to know if they would ask you to show proof of an outbound flight at Savannakhet. Just wanted to let you know, they have never asked me.
