Do I need an outbound flight ticket to apply for a visa at the Savannakhet consulate in Thailand?

Martin Buckhan tourists arriving in Thailand are supposed to have proof of an outgoing flight and the equivalent of baht CASH. Thing is, they don’t ask for these...until they do! Even if you arrive with a valid tourist visa, the proof of an outgoing flight, and the cash, the immigration officer has the right to refuse you entry to Thailand for whatever reason they see fit. That’s right...even if you have a fresh and valid visa.

I thought it was the departure airport that checked you had a return ticket.

Joe Bec I was responding to this part of your post “Do you if at Savannakhet there are also asking for an outbound flight?” It seemed like you wanted to know if they would ask you to show proof of an outbound flight at Savannakhet. Just wanted to let you know, they have never asked me.
