Do I need to make an appointment to request a second extension for my visa at Thai immigration?

I just got letter from my embassy asking Thai immigration if I can receive a 2nd extension. I heard that you need to make an appointment online first with Thai immigration before going there. Is that true, or do we just turn up?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The response to whether an appointment is needed for a second visa extension is mixed. One comment suggests that it's unnecessary to make an appointment and advises to visit close to the expiration date of the current stamp. Another comment further clarifies the requirements for obtaining an extension on an extension, specifically mentioning that this information pertains to Trat immigration.

So, I went to Bangkok Immigration yesterday Chaeng Watthana Civic Center. I was granted a 2nd extension of 15 days, having to return in another 15 days to discuss my case. I had to present..

My tm.7 form with 1x passport photo

Visa entry stamp of entry date photocopied & passport photo

passport

A letter from the embassy.

Not sure what the verdict will be post 15 days. It seems to be the same requirements there apart from the embassy letter. If you are stuck and have overstayed you will be taken more seriouslyand it will help. Overstayed for 1 day longer (as that was when the embassy letter come through), paid the fine, along with 1900 baht and had to sign a lot of forms.

Initially went to the '90 day report' department and they said there was no need report, just get another extension.

I assume this document also applies to those just extending a tourist visa for 2nd time too correct?

Trat's requirements are just that. There is no way to assume that other Immigration Offices will have an identical list
