Hi, just wondering if anyone knows, as there are lots of conflicting info on the web, when leaving the county after the 180 days, do I have to leave for a certain amount of time? As in, does an out and back in in the same day matter or does immigration prefer you leave for a longer period?

Cheers

TLDR : Answer Summary
When leaving Thailand after a 180-day stay, there is no specific requirement regarding the duration you must stay outside the country before returning. Expats and travelers have shared that you can return on the same day, or even within a few hours. However, experiences may vary depending on the discretion of the immigration officer you encounter, so some recommend being cautious and possibly allowing a longer break outside the country.

cheers everyone, yeah I thought it would be ok but due to all the attention around boarders runs and the unclear Thai gov I thought I’d see what others might have experienced.

There is no rule for this so it's stamp out and stamp in. But as usual it's up to the immagration officer you encounter as TI weather it's smooth or not. If they are having a bad day they may question you about something just stick to my DTV is 5 years so What's wrong ??

Entirely up to you

You can return as soon as queue lines allow you to. However, due to all those recent chaos with border bounce, spend a day or two outside on a safe side.

Pretty sure the border bounce changes apply to people who try to come and stay without a actual visa.

you are totally right. I said, "safe side"

There is no regulation about the time you have to spent abroad before you are allowed back into Thailand.
