Considering buying an elite visa. Does anyone know if you have to physically leave Thailand to get the visa affixed ? Or is there a way to apply and receive it inside Thailand ?

TLDR : Answer Summary
You can apply for the Thailand Elite Visa from within the country, specifically at the Chaengwattana Immigration Office in Bangkok, although the process may depend on your current visa type. Some users mention it can be done without leaving Thailand, especially if you hold a Tourist Visa, while others state that specific visas like the STV or previous Elite Visas may require you to leave the country. Options for application include upon arrival at certain airports or while staying in Thailand with proper documentation, such as the TM.30 form. However, the application process may take 1-2 months, so ensure your current visa is valid during this period.

It's unsense to do it, early retirement visa costs 5800 baht per year( multi re-entry), or even cheaper , if you not use to go out often, 1900 baht plus every time you go out 1000. Why to buy 600.000 baht in advance per 10 years...?

General information and requirements
Elite Visa is categorized as a Tourist Visa, which does not allow the holder to legally apply for a work permit to work or enroll in school for studying in Thailand.
Any applicant who has more than one overstay record will not be eligible to apply for the Elite Visa, despite having received the Approval Letter in the initial stage of the application procedure. Elite Visa validity length will be subject to the membership validity.
Reporting obligations
Thailand Elite Members are required to complete a 90-day report at the Immigration Office in the case of continuously staying in the country without leaving for over 90 days.
If Thailand Elite members stay less than 90 days per entry, they are not required to do a report. If members intend to stay up to, or over 90 days, then the 90-day report is required. For members who live in Bangkok, the submission may be done through the Thailand Privilege Card Head office on Sathorn, Bangkok. The report will be done within 3 working days and does not include any fee. There are also contracted agents to serve members in Chiang Mai, Pattaya, and Phuket, which may also do the 90-day report on behalf of members without any fee.
If staying for a continuous year in Thailand, Thailand Elite members are required to personally report to immigration to get a stay extension. Members will be charged THB 1,900 at the immigration office when applying for this extension. The extension is not required should the member leave Thailand at any point during the 365-day period.
*** TM 30 form (for the Residence Notification as the responsibility from the house/building owner where you stayed with) is required for 90 days report & stay extension.
Refund policy and information about the validity of the visa issued
According to immigration regulations, if the length of your current passport is not up to a 5-year period, we will issue the Elite Visa in accordance with the expiration date stated on the passport.

The application process can take 1-2 months. So your current visa has to be valid long enough to have time to process the elite visa. I don’t think you can do it from a Covid extension. But not sure on that.
Contact thai elite directly by phone.

Who's so daft to spend 25.000$ on a visa??? If you have the money to throw away, there a better places than greedy Thailand!!!
Wayne Klapko. I've seen them in 7-11 queuing for their seven-day old cheese toasties and 20 baht coffee, really believing they are helping the local economy. Then complaining about spending 100baht for a beer in bar which they could have got at 7-11 for 40baht. Thailand is over-supplied with cheap foreigners who are now complaining about the 300baht tax on incoming passengers. I shake my head in amazement!

Elite still requires 90 day reporting and annual extension if yiu don’t leave Thailand that year. I think TM30 as well. Seems to make sense if under 50 and you are willing to pay the price. I got non O retirement, i think it was ฿2000 to start and its ฿1900/year, plus ฿3800 for multiple re-entry permit if you travel.

Total waste of money. Nothing offered can not be had for a fraction of what they ask. And they can and already have brocken agreement. It's another shakedown
Well I am not going to buy Elite visa anyway. I am not long enough in Thailand. But if I would want to stay 5 years straight it is an acceptable deal. I pay much more taxes in Switzerland.
Furthermore you said you know how and where to grease the palm right?
So you are probably using bogus visa like volunteer visa. Or you make other use of corruption to get things done.
Well they are cracking down on bogus visa now. The palms to grease getting smaller and lesser.
If you want to do everything legal and straigt the Elite visa is a good option.
Corruption is not really an alternative you can compare here.
As to if they will change the rules for Elite and no refund I cannot say and would not dare to
Yes ... hopefully he will be able to find what he needs at a much cheaper price. It's really not that expensive in the grand scale of things just IMHO so incredibly overpriced for something that really is not a problem at all ( staying in Thailand)
how, exactly l, is it, in your mind, a shakedown? Do you feel that way when you go into a shop and see things priced up? It's a product that's available to purchase for those that want it. It might not be something you want but it's convenient to others. Nobody is forcing it on him. Nobody comes knocking on his door in the middle of the night extorting more from him. It's a product, available, for sale
No Brett. Well over and been here most of my life. Mixed blood. Western educated. It probably upsets me far more than it should. What bother me most is not just what l perceive as blatant rip off but the huge amounts ripped off not going where l think it should. Directly into pockets of charlatans . If they spread it around a bit better l would not be moaning so much. I also hate to see what l perceive as taking advantage of western oap. Obviously they only want to retire to somewhere where there are no visa issue. So this VIP elite visa scam gets promoted too . That's my two cents worth. I could be talking out of my butt
so you have those cheap options as you're over 50, as am I. That's of absolutely no help to the original poster though is it. If you do know a way for him to get everything the the elite visa offers, assuming he can't falsify his age, I'm sure he'd be all ears. If you can't then you've brought absolutely nothing to this thread?

There are many agents that deal with the elite visa . Speak to them

and here’s the kicker - if you currently have a TE visa and due to expire shortly like my wife and mine they offered 15 years for a 5 year payment so now that's worth it but you only get this if you an existing TE holder and the balance you have on current visa is credited also to the newly issued 15 yrs...
Which is the same as shelving out 1m for a full 20 years - mine expired recently ,I didn't extend it as I don't think it's value (once you are over 50yo ) - I found some rules very inflexible considering I paid 500k
did you read correctly they offered me 5 yrs for 500,000k and gave me additional 15 yrs xxx a 20 yrs thai elite is 2 million a 10 yr 1 mill because i was existing member they offered me a great deal
yes i Did read correctly -- you seem to not be aware of the latest packages 😁 ,you paid initially 500k for a 5 year easy access TE correct ?, they then offered you a 15 year extension for another 500k yes ?
(Same as I was offered recently )
Which costs the same as buying a 20 year for 1 million ( Elite Superiority Extension ) as I said !!
my previous visa is Thailand Elite. They won't allow another inside the country. You have to leave and come back. I have never overstayed.

It can be affixed in Thailand, but you must go to Bangkok to get it done. At Chaengwattana government complex
Marc ********
Can be done in the country. It's a VIP Visa. So very flexible
I really don't think you need to get an agent involved to purchase a Thai Elite Visa - it's a simple enough process to deal with the main office of TE in Bangkok ,all agents I have spoken to over the last 5 years have good English etc - I had mine done in about 3 weeks
Yes I don't know. I just red the requirements and advertisment of the Elite on their homepage and that's what I get. And I would rather believe what I read there than a random dude on internet🤷♂️
so you would rather believe some Thai companies marketing that you have read online ( aimed at extracting a min 600k by the way ) instead of somebody who has experience of actually buying and using it - in this particular group - ok lad 🤣🤣😜
Certain elements are not flexible , I had to leave the country just to get a PE visa affixed into a new passport etc ( a second sticker could only be affixed at BKK etc)
Since you are so knowledgeable about Thailand Elite visas you will be aware that PE ( privileged entry ) is the visa type that's printed into an actual Thailand Elite visa sticker affixed in a person's passport
