Hi all; assuming I get married, I have heard that the marriage visa needs THB400k in a bank for 2 months before the visa can be issued. Is this true? Or can I apply immediately after getting married and the money is in the bank. TIA

TLDR : Answer Summary
The claim that you need to keep THB 400,000 in a bank for two months before obtaining a marriage visa in Thailand is incorrect. You can apply for the initial Non-O visa immediately after depositing the funds into your Thai bank account. However, when applying for a 1-year extension based on marriage to a Thai woman, the money must be in the account for at least two months.

@Keith *****
, There is NO seasoning of funds (the minimum period you have to have your money in your Thai bank account) for an initial Non-O visa based on being married to a Thai woman at the immigration office inside Thailand. You can apply for it even on the day you deposit into your bank account in Thailand.

If you apply for an initial visa at the Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate-General, the requirements vary by them.

You need to have your funds for two months minimum when you apply for a 1-year extension based on marriage to a Thai woman at the end of the stay from the initial Non-O visa entry.

Check the details of requirements at the exact location (of embassies/immigration offices) you apply for your visa just before you apply for one.
