I entered Thailand on March 17th, on a DTV and will depart Jun 15th. Do I still need to file a 90 day report? Is the 7-days grace period just for the filing itself or does it waive the duty altogether if I depart during that period?
Answer summary
The user, who entered Thailand on a DTV visa, is seeking clarification on whether they need to file a 90-day report if they are departing on the 90th day of their stay. The consensus in the comments is that since they will have been in Thailand for 90 consecutive days, they are legally obliged to file the report. Some comments clarify the confusion around the 7-day grace period, stating that it only applies if the report is filed and does not waive the obligation to report if the individual leaves the country on the 90th day.

I'm on a retirement I went to Cambodia on my 91st day my advice was no need to report (Jonjiem)
Thank you everyone for your input. I’ll just go and file the report tomorrow. This is an edge-case and things happen these days: flights get cancelled etc. It’s also everything but my last stay in Thailand, so I prefer to be on the safe side. God bless you all 🙏
CharmingGuava1919 AI is a language model. Not something which tells you all the correct facts.
With both AI and Google you have to use these to find credible sources and then use your critical thinking. Not use it to just believe the first sentences it produces.
MagicalRhino1955 I always do, and have to anyway. I’m on a DTV and I never get even close to the 180 day limit, so technically every report I make is the “first after entry” so it’s always in person 🙂
