Hello!  What documents do I need to go penang on an organised visa run for TR visa to penang? I plan to stay in Thailand for a few more months and haven't got an onward ticket. Is this my best option or should go to Laos or myanmar? Thank you

...and I would avoid an organised trip to Vientiane because with some cursory googling and a little bit of adventure (and really only a little bit) it's easy and much cheaper to do it by yourself

you aren't gonna get a tourist visa in Penang without proof of funds, proof of a hotel booking and proof of onward travel so I'd scratch that thai consulate right off your list.

The thai consulate in Vientiane is the ONLY consulate in the area that requires no proof of anything to issue a single entry tourist visa. I'd say that's where you should be going.

Screw this visa companies. Van from Udon airport to the bridge - 200b. Taxi from the bridge to VTE centre - 300b or bus for 8000 kip (30b)

where you can easily get a bus/mini van to the Nong Khai border. On the Lao side, I'd say tuk tuk.

Don't know about visa run companies. But I'm sure there are plenty of them.

savannakhet is hit or miss on proof of funds (they have signage up about needing 20K baht or the equivalent in a bank account but don't always ask). They were asking for all 3 of the proof ofz a while back

Vientiane is the easiest and most user friendly thai consulate in S/E Asia to deal with.
