How do I apply for TM30 in Chiang Mai if I'm staying with my Thai wife?

Thanks for previous advice on entering Thailand on visa exemption. And extending my stay from 45 days.

I’ve just arrived in Chiang Mai, spent one night transiting in Bangkok.

I’m staying at our place with my Thai wife.

TM30. It’s been a while since I’ve had one. Is it still the same - at immigration apply for it?

Our house is in my wife’s name. So is she my “landlord”? And what is the TM30 requirement for touring around Thailand?

Thank you for any help.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is staying with his Thai wife in Chiang Mai and inquires about the process of applying for a TM30, which is necessary for foreigners residing in Thailand. He seeks clarification on whether his wife is considered his landlord since the house is in her name and questions the TM30 requirements for travel within Thailand. A comment advises him to visit the local immigration office in Chiang Mai with his wife to file the TM30, noting that it's not required to refile when traveling within Thailand.

Just visit Chiang Mai Thai immigration office with your Thai wife and file the TM30 as you are in residence with your Thai wife.

Have her bring her house book.

As for added travel in Thailand from your home in Chiang Mai, no need to refile the TM30 upon return to Chiang Mai.

Will you be staying longer than the stamped in 45 days plus 30 days extension of stay?

Thank you. And I’m only staying the 45 days plus the 30 day extension.

which is neither here nor there 😕 C/M is known to ask for TM30's so either go file it now and while you're there apply for your extension (you can do it when you have 45 days or less left on your stamp so any time you want really) They add the 30 days the end of your current stamp and that way you get them both out of the way with one visit
