Hello All Friend Exat, I'm French in Malaysia and on process to work back in Thailand and to apply for an Immigrant B (3 months) + later in Thailand extension 1 year + Work permit + 2 weeks Hotel quarantine. About the Covid insurance 100,000 USD requested now, do we need to apply for 1 year contract or as my first visa will be 3 months only Covid insurance for 3 months will be enough ? Thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking clarification on whether they need to purchase Covid insurance for one year or if a three-month policy suffices, given that they are applying for an Immigrant B visa with plans to extend it later. The comments from the community advise checking with the Thai Embassy for specific documentation requirements, stressing that rules can vary by embassy and are subject to change. Additionally, it's highlighted that a job offer or invitation letter is crucial for obtaining the type B visa.

One important element in getting a type B visa, and COE , is that you have documents from the company that you are going to work for stating that they are in fact going to hire you. Basically an invitation letter to work. You can not enter Thailand, and look for work. You must have already been offered a job by a legally registered company. As far as the covid-19 insurance policy, from my understanding it much cover your whole time in Thailand, as it is written now, but that, I'm sure, will change when a vaccine is found, and required.

i wondering if they are going to make it mandatory for all new visas
Kool *******
Michael Dawson, the covid-19 insurance requirement already is mandatory for all visas to enter the country, even if you are coming back with a re-entry permit, and having a still valid old visa extension. What I see happening, when a vaccine that works is found, that the covid-19 insurance requirement might be dropped, but in its place an official verification that you've received the vaccine. Similar to the vaccine countries require you have if coming from a country with Yellow Fever.

yes but who knows how long thats going to take

, currently Thailand is in the second stage of animal testing of a possible vaccine, and if everything keeps going like it is, they are looking at early next year. Most people simply do not realize how advance Thailand's medical research is.

Tks

I got one year to make sue. I know some people got three month some it worked and some got denied. Embassies and countries seem to have different rules. So as
@Darren ******
said go to your embassy.

Rules seem to be changing every week so its pointless asking anywhere else but the embassy

Ask the Thai Embassy for the list of documents, it seems to vary from embassy to embassy.
