How long does the covid insurance need to be valid for when applying for visa and CoE for a teaching B visa?

I am currently on a dependents Non-O and will be going back to UK to apply for the visa.

Currently on Axa insurance covers by my husbands employer, but wonโ€™t be covered by my new employer until August 2021 (I fly back to BKK at the end of May)

Would it be ok to show my current Axa insurance valid until August (2 months cover)

Or should I bring both insurance documents or get my new employer to extend cover starting from my return flight?

Background ....

Is it possible to change from a covid extension to B visa??

I am currently on non-o visa (spouse of a foreigner with work permit) and I have been offered a teaching job starting in August.

Apparently not possible to change visas directly at Chonburi. So Iโ€™m wondering if cancelling my current visa and getting covid extension would be worth a try? Trying to avoid needing to go back to UK if there is any possibility of sorting out the visa change in Thailand..

My question to you is...

Why do you need to leave Thailand to get the Non b visa to teach?

Your school should be able to get the correct documents needed for the Non b visa and go with you to Thai Immigration to apply for it.

reason being itโ€™s not possible to change from Non-O dependent visa to B visa in Chonburi. Information from both school and immigration.

Anyhow, my question for this post is about the covid insurance - is anyone is able to advise?

pardon me I was just trying to save you a very costly trip to the UK... And the quarantine requirements of both on arrival plus in the UK and return to Thailand.

Is it possible to cancel your existing trailing visa /extension...

Apply for the COVID extension...then apply for the Non b for teaching?

As for the COVID insurance... Ask the Thai Embassy in UK.

If you do obtain a new non b in the UK... You will be stamped into Thailand upon arrival for 90 days.

That is the only COVID insurance proof that you will need to submit to the Thai Embassy in UK for your CoE.

And to get that Non b for teaching in the UK... You will need to have this....

As a teacher do yourself a favor...

Get a teachers contract..

Get the WP3 Thai work permit in cooperation with your school employer...

Have your school contact the Thai Ed Ministry to get your name placed on a list of teachers managed by the Thai Foreign Ministry...

Make application for the Non B visa for teaching ...

The Thai Embassy will look at the approved list and issue you a Non B for teaching and a CoE to enter Thailand.

Without these steps followed you will not get the Non b in the UK.

Good Luck

the school is paying for all flights, quarantine and visa costs, so no worries on that front ๐Ÿ‘Œ

enjoy your holiday in the UK...

Stay safe ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™

As you have the correct answer to your question... 90 days of COVID insurance needed ..

Get vaccinated in the UK..

Provide proof of the vaccinations to the UK Thai Embassy and the medical staff at arrival in Thailand. They will determine how many days you are to be quarantined... 7 or 10.

IF that's the route you want to use; you'll need the COVID-19 insurance for the length of your visa. The Non-B visa is a 90 day visa, and you'll need COVID-19 insurance for 90 days.
