I have been in Chiang my for a couple of weeks and I have the retirement visa with multiple entries. My question is do I have to get any paperwork from immigration to go on a trip to Malaysia for a week.

I get lost in all the paperwork and have been given confusing info from other expats. So can someone please give me right info for exit and return to Thailand. Any help appreciated

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user, holding a retirement visa (Non-Immigrant Type O-A) with multiple entries, inquires about the necessary paperwork for a trip to Malaysia and re-entry to Thailand. Other users clarify that no special paperwork is needed for the trip, but advise re-registering the TM30 form upon returning to Thailand to ensure compliance with immigration rules.

Thank you for the replies, you probably think I’m a bit naive, well your right as have had so many confusing answers about everything and just feel a little daunted by it all. Was supposed to be a gap year that I didn’t take when I left school years ago. Thailand was my happy place after a few great holidays here but so far I have hit a lot of hurdles. So sorry for the questions etc.

you're fine (y) glad it got sorted out

You can enter/exit all you want up until May 2020 and you will be stamped in for another year every time.

Okay
@Fra****
, now that we've sussed out WHAT "retirement visa" you're on <- which is Non-Immigrant Type O-A visa that you got from a thai consulate in your country BEFORE you came here let's see if we can answer your question:)

Let's use this visa as an example

This is a year-long, multi-entry Non-Immigrant Type O-A visa issued on the 18 of Oct 2018 and valid until 17 of Oct 2019. You can see under the No Of Entry the word Multiple.

That means this visa is good for unlimited entries until the 17th of Oct 2019.

Every time you enter on that visa you will get stamped in for a whole year up until the visa itself expires.

What is the "valid until" date on your O-A visa and does it have an M or Multiple under the No of Entries ?

does this have to be signed by the owner as well. I just filled out one the other day when I moved into my condo.
