Are they asking for a TM30 if you want the 30 day extension of your visa exempt entry in Bangkok?
FYI - I arrived by air.
Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
To extend your 30-day visa exempt entry in Bangkok, it is generally required to have a TM30 submitted by your hotel or lodging. If it is recorded in the immigration system, they may not ask for a physical copy. However, some reports indicate that if you are not registered in the system, you might be asked to show the TM30. Different immigration offices have varying requirements, with the office in Chiang Mai known to request a printed TM30. It is advised to go to Laksi Plaza (IT Square) in Bangkok for the extension instead of the main government office at Chaengwattana.

My son did it twice now and they didn’t asked , he made a appointment at CW , ( second time ) and they asked he said I haven’t any , well that okay
Chiang Mai is well known to need to see a copy. Each office has different requirements.

As an aside. In Bangkok with a visa exempt entry you get the extension at IT Square, Laksi Plaza, floor 3, Counter K.
Do not go to the main government complex at Chaengwattana.

Reports vary. Most times when they check the immigration system and see a valid entry for a TM30 they don’t ask for a physical paper copy. It’s filed. You’re clear. However other reports suggest that if you’re “not in the system” then they can ask for it.

If you do not have one in the system they will ask you for a copy. If your hotel or lodging has filed one for you and they can see it, they usually won't ask.
