Hi everyone! I want to apply for DTV (Muay Thai) from Germany and train for 4 months, but I'd like the flexibility to switch between schools.

1. What proof of participation does the consulate accept if you're not committing to one school the entire time? Would it be enough to have proof for one month?

2. Do you need to pay the school upfront to get that proof?

You are not likely to get the DTV visa with your plan.

You will need to sign up for at least 6 months of Muay Thai training...

And attend the course during that 6 months.

You're NOT going to be able to travel around at your leisure.

Good questions. Usually the embassy will like to see at least a 6 month course or you risk the chance of being issued with a tourist visa which would cover a 4 month course.

Im the perfect world we, as gyms would let you pay after the visa was secured but we are plagued with people trying to get our paperwork without paying so we have to ask for pre payment and in any case the embassy want to see receipts that the course was paid for in full to demonstrate commitment and authenticity

You would need to pay the school upfront and for the required docs.. 4mths of MT they are likely to issue you a METV for 6mths.  You need at least 6 -12 mths enrolment in a gym or combination of gyms
