TLDR : Answer Summary
The question concerns whether a traveler returning to Thailand from the UK with a re-entry permit on an ED visa extension needs to show proof of funds, specifically 20,000 THB. The community response suggests that while it's not very common for individuals on visa extensions to be asked for proof of funds, it is advisable to be prepared in case it is requested. It's noted that carrying 20,000 THB or an equivalent in another currency, like euros, could be wise.

It doesn't have to be Baht... 600 euro be fine.

In this day and age of uncertainty ...I would carry 20,000 Thai baht upon entry...Up to You.

ANYONE can be asked to show proof of funds when stamping in to the country.

With that being said people on extensions of stays are very VERY low on the list of people asked.

If I had to guess I'd say NO you're not gonna be asked at all, BUT it's better to be prepared and not need it, than to be asked and not have it
