Hi I am here on a multiple entry tourist visa valid for 6 months starting 2nd June. I am going to Laos via the friendship bridge for a week and was wondering if I need to apply for a re entry permit at the border.

Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
If you hold a multiple entry tourist visa and are traveling to Laos, you do not need to apply for a re-entry permit at the border. Each time you re-enter Thailand on a multiple entry visa, you will receive a new 60-day stamp. Note that re-entry permits are not available for purchase at land borders and obtaining one would actually reduce your available time in the country.

With a multiple entry visa, you get a new 60-day stamp EVERY TIME you enter Thailand. Getting a re-entry permit would actually give you less time in Thailand. Also you cannot purchase a re-entry permit at land borders.
